Trix in Namibia

Trix’ Travels was created with full cooperation of Trix the cat. She has been perfectly safe and lazy during the entire process that will now be posted every other Saturday. This weeks stop: Namibia.

naamloosSo the crazy blond, who now will be called ‘the-insane-person-that-will-end-up-in-the-hospital-as-payback’, did indeed made me climb all the way down from the table-like mountain. She will pay for that! Right after she makes me dinner of course, there is a fine line between justice and insanity. As I complained about the airplanes, she found us a new form of transportation. It is this weird thing on two weels that makes a lot of noise and requires me to put on a helmet. I am not sure she knows how to drive on it, but some fresh air does sound nice and maybe this will give me a chance to see the animals a bit better. I am quite fascinated by this huge creature called ‘elephant’. Have you ever seen it? It is like a giant vacuum-cleaner on legs! Completely fascinating. And there is this tinier version that has a horn, but it resembles kind of a car on legs. Just as sturdy and menacing.

Aah, the smell of fresh air, the wind in your fur, sun on your face. If we keep this up, I might end up with some nice highlights in my coat. The crazy blond enjoys it too, she’s smiling a lot more. And sometimes we just stop on the side of the road to sit down, have a drink of water, and stare at our surroundings. When it’s evening, we build a fire on a campside and stare at the stars. I’ve never seen so many stars, felt so free, and also feel so tiny in this world. We cats often think that the world revolves around us but being here makes me realize how big that world actually is, and I want to see as much as possible from it.

Ooh, and we saw Orion yesterday. It is this weird constellation that you get to see on both sides of the planet. The crazy blond told me the legend behind it, but I can’t remember it well. Something with a hunter that got shot by someone else. I thought hunters weren’t supposed to be hunted. However… I have seen some animals that looked at me like I was some jummy snack, so maybe I’m wrong..

Our you sure you know how to drive one of these? Because I’m sure you don’t.
